To My Dearest Besties,

Simply Maica is the evolution of a blog I started 16 years ago under the name Simply Intricate. I originally created this space as an outlet for my deep passion for writing.

Back then, it showcased my life as a fresh graduate who had just passed the nursing licensure exam in the Philippines. Over the years, it beautifully chronicled my early career, my personal adventures, and all the valuable lessons I learned along the way.

In those early days, I was a strictly one-person team. I acted as the writer, editor, creative director, and publisher—sharing updates whenever I felt inspired by a major phase of my life.

However, when I relocated to New Zealand 11 years ago, life shifted completely. I encountered brand-new challenges, entered a completely different career chapter, and somewhere along the way, I lost my spark for writing.

Until now.

Following my wedding, and now that I am truly living the life I once only dreamed of, I have found that creative spark again.

To help me rebuild this space for a modern audience, I utilise advanced digital publishing and editing tools to help polish my grammar, brainstorm layout structures, and bring the creative visuals in my head to life.

So, I decided to write again. Together with these modern tools, I’ve rebuilt this little corner of the internet and given it a fresh new name: Simply Maica. 💜
