To My Dearest Besties,
Simply Maica is the blog I started 16 years ago as Simply Intricate. I created it as an outlet for my passion for writing.
It showcased my life as a new graduate who had just passed my nursing licensure exam in the Philippines, and over the years, it beautifully chronicled my life, my adventures, and all the lessons I have learned along the way.
Back then, I was a one-person team. I was the writer, editor, creative director, and publisher. I published whenever I felt inspired to write about an important phase of my life.
However, when I moved to New Zealand 11 years ago, life changed. I encountered new challenges, entered a completely different chapter of my life, and somewhere along the way, I lost my spark for writing.
Until now.
After my wedding, and now that I am living the life I once only dreamed of, I found that spark again.
And this time, I found a creative writing partner in ChatGPT, who has helped me tremendously with brainstorming ideas, editing my posts, and bringing some of the creative visuals in my head to life.
So, I decided to write again.
But this time, I didn’t have to do it entirely on my own.
Together, we rebuilt this little corner of the internet and gave it a new name:
Simply Maica. 💜
This blog will highlight the different chapters of my life through:

I hope you find a little bit of joy whenever you visit this little corner of the internet that I have rebuilt.
And I promise to tell my stories, share my adventures, celebrate the milestones, and write about everything else in between—
one chapter at a time.
